Created by the legendary Salvatore Calabrese, what could be more English than Garden Tiger dry gin and marmalade?
We do insist, however, that the marmalade used needs to match the quality of your other ingredients. For us it is simple, only homemade marmalade made annually in our kitchen each Winter. If you don't want to make your own marmalade (please do, you can finish your day with a fresh Breakfast Martini!) please choose a good, bitter marmalade to play with the herbal complexity of this drink:
- 40 ml of Garden Tiger dry gin
- 5ml of marmalade
- 12.5ml of triple sec (e.g., Cointreau)
- 12.5ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- A strip of orange zest
Combine all the ingredients, bar the orange zest, in a cocktail shaker and stir until the marmalade is well combined. Add ice and shake well. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass, twisting the orange zest over the glass before placing it in the drink.
